There is a review going though Parliament that will extend the storage period for embryos for the use in surrogacy from 5 to 10 years, HOWEVER they are not planning to introduce it retrospectively, which means that many of those who have embryos near or older than 5 years old will continue to be discriminated against.
*a little wish* is working and campaigning to have this discriminatory limit removed leading to equility with those that are fortunate to have use of their own uterus who are able to keep their embryos and gametes until they are 55 years of age.
Please sign our petition, this may well be the last opportunity to change this law, further review is not expected before 2020.
